Email June 2, 2014

Hey friends! This week has been so crazy I can't wait to tell you everything that happened, first there's Mr. K and oh my goodness I love this man so much! He is absolutely incredible, he has such a strong testimony. Anyway so he has been taught by the missionaries almost a year, There have been five missionaries who have taught him including me. Mr. K is super smart, he's a teacher and teaches mathematics and other smart things that I don't know, and he has a super photographic brain. So when you teach him he breaks every little thing you say down so he understands everything before you move on to the next lesson. He has been such a stickler about baptism and has had so many questions that he wont let us move on until we answer them. He's leaving for Greece on Wednesday and we've been trying to teach him everything so his testimony will be strong enough that he wont fall into temptation. So two days ago Sister Price and I were trying to decide what he needed and we both got the strong impression to talk about baptism. We were kind of scared because last time we did that it didn't go very well but we followed the prompting because obviously Heavenly Father knows what he's doing and we had to be very bold with him. So we were sitting there in the lesson and Sister Price asked Mr. K Do you want to get baptized? He hesitated for a second and then started going off on how he feels like he has already gotten baptized with authority and we knew he was going to say that and I knew we had to be really bold so I said "No you didn't" (trust me if I wasn't speaking by the spirit I never would have said that ever haha) I said "It wasn't valid because they didn't have the priesthood power of God." Boy did he go crazy, he started going on and on and he said "Once I'm touched by the spirit and God wants me to, then I will get baptized." we said he had been feeling the spirit for 9 months now. We knew that he believed everything we had taught him so far so there really was no excuses he could make. I got a prompting and I looked him straight in the eyes and said. "If Jesus Christ were sitting here right now and told you to get baptized would you?" he said "Yes without question." and I continued to stare at him and I said. "Us, as representatives of Jesus Christ are sitting here and telling you to get baptized. We know that you believe this gospel is true." He was silent, that was the first time I ever saw that man silent and after a while he said "Yes, after I come back from Greece, I will be baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints." Ahhhhh! We were freaking out! Do you have any idea how long we've been waiting for him to admit that out loud? haha He knows this church is true and we are so happy for him! Speaking by the spirit is soooo cool, I have never felt that before but it was the coolest feeling ever! Heavenly Father is the best! He is the best person ever, he is filled with love and I can't wait for that baptism haha. We're seeing him again tonight because he wants to see us everyday until he leaves. We got his email and permission from President Gerber to keep in contact with him so we're pretty excited. Another cool thing that happened is we're teaching this girl named Sarah, who's brother is a member and we have taught her all the lessons and she has a really strong testimony too. We were talking with her and she said she wants to get baptized! So we set a date and made a list of goals for her to continue to stay on this path she's on and she's planning to get baptized July 12! How cool is that? Her mom, who's also not a member came with us to Stake Conference which was cool, so we're hoping we get to teach that whole family. Also there's an Elder, Elder Latu, he is freaking amazing! He is from the Philippines and he was my zone leader when I first came out and when transfers happened he followed me to this area and is my zone leader again! He keeps saying I couldn't get enough of him so I followed him haha, he's a boss though, he's a freaking spirit machine! Anyway a lot has happened and I am exhausted but I am loving my area! I hope you guys have a wonderful week, I will try to send pictures as soon as I can! Love you guys and the gospel's true!
