Hey everyone!
So this week has been great as always, I swear you can't have a bad day when you're in Grand Blanc. So I'll start with Tuesday, we saw Denise with Sister Litchdenburg and had lunch with them haha that was both fun and weird to see someone you know here. It was fun to catch up on what's been happening in Utah and stuff.
Also we had to take one of our investigators off date for baptism...yeah we had an awesome throw down lesson with him it was awesome! He came out when we got to his house and we could tell he was high but we didn't say anything and as soon as we started the lesson we asked how many cigarettes he was smoking a day, even though he was supposed to be at 0, he said 5. We were like "That's fine, that happens." we tried to start goals with him again but we could tell it just wasn't sticking. so I asked why he wanted to quit and he started saying all the health benefits from it and because he wanted to get baptized and I was like "great, why do you want to get baptized?" and he said because he knew it was true. So we talked about how living the word of wisdom helps us gain the spirit and if he doesn't live it, it dulls your spiritual sensitivity. He though a lot about that and then told us he wasn't ready to give them up yet he wants to quit but right now he doesn't know where his desire is at. We told him that there was only so much we could do to help him but now it's his turn to step up and work for it, it's not just going to come naturally, obviously quitting addictions is hard but at his stage he can easily give it up, he just doesn't have a desire right now and we can tell that so we're taking a break on him for a little bit. Keep him in your prayers please.
on a lighter note a different investigator is still a boss at everything! We told her she had to be off coffee at least 7 days before her baptism... haha yeah we told her that the day before she had to stop...yep that was our bad haha we totally forgot to tell her until then but she handled it very well haha. She now has caffeine pills to get rid of the withdrawals and stuff so that's good. She's amazing! She's getting baptized this Saturday and I have never met a more prepared person in my life! She is just soaking everything in and she's excited about everything gospel related and she's going to be a foster parent in a couple weeks. God is just blessing her all over the place! She's also the best missionary ever, she talked to her nephew who's 20 and his girlfriend about the church and they want to come! They seem pretty interested so who knows, we might be able to teach them too!
We also had Stake conference yesterday and we had 5 investigators there it was the best!! Jennifer, 3 of them met President Gerber and that was fun it was just awesome! Yep this area is the best and I am really hoping I get to stay here for a long time, I've been praying so hard haha you have no idea. At least one more transfer haha.
Anyway I love you all so much the gospel is true and have a wonderful week! Heavenly Father is the best hahah.
