Hey y'all!
Still loving Grand Blanc, it will forever be Zion. Our new companion is Sister Riggs, she's from Spanish Fork Utah and has been out for 15 months, it's kind of cool because we go in a row, Sister Riggs has been out for 15 months, I've been out for 14, and Sister Julander has been out for 13, haha no wonder we get a long so well. I've actually been in a district with Sister Riggs before so i know her pretty well AND she just came from Riverview so she's been catching me up on the people there. We've been having a lot of fun.
We visited one of our investigators and watched the Joseph Smith movie with her last Monday and she LOVED it! She cried on some parts and at the end she was like "He has to be a prophet, after he went through all of that! How could it not be true?" haha i love that movie so much, Joseph Smith is like my favorite, I'm kind of obsessed with him, he is definitely a prophet of God! We also did some service for her on Saturday so she can get ready for the foster kids. Her and Paul are so excited and they're seriously going to be the best parents in the world! i know i say that all the time but it's true, they're amazing and which ever kids she gets are going to be so blessed to be in her family.
Also there's a change in the bishopric, so he got a new second councilor, so we have two ward mission leaders. One is the first ward mission leader and is awesome, then the assistant ward mission leader. Missionary work is going to blow out of the water in this ward. We have this plan to work with the members and i'm so excited. Right now all the people we're working with are either member referrals or part member families, how awesome is that!! Good things are going to happen here.
Also we went and saw an investigator again because he called us and wanted help with moving stuff out of his garage because he wants to do a yard sale. We weren't planning on teaching a lesson with him because we dropped him so we were just planning on moving his stuff and then leaving. Well we get there and while we're moving stuff he was breathing heavy and sounded like he was going to die any moment, i asked him if he was ok and he said he was fine but he hasn't smoked or drank in 3 days so that why he sounded so bad. He said that he's ready to stop completely and he wants to get right with God. We didn't know how serious he was being but we decided to have a lesson with him and we read Enos and applied it to him and he started crying. He said the prayer for us and we prayed too at the end and he was like "Thank you sisters, i wont let you down, and i wont let God down either." We testified so hard that Heavenly Father was going to bless him so much for this choice but we also warned him that because he made this choice Satan is also going to work super hard core at tempting him. He told us he knew Satan was going to tempt him more than ever but he also said that he's getting stronger with God so he wont sin again. It was awesome and the best part of that whole thing was we got to dump out all of his beer and tobacco, i have a video of it and it's my favorite thing in the world!
so yeah we've had a pretty eventful week, i am still loving it here in Grand Blanc, i will never get sick of it. I totally would stay here for the rest of my mission if i could, hey sister Reeves stayed here for 71/2 months so it could totally happen haha. Anyway i hope you all have a wonderful week! i love you all so much and in case you didn't know the gospel is true! Heavenly Father is aware of all of us and we can see his hand in every aspect of our lives.
Sister Gordon
