hey y'all!
So this week was pretty good. I'm really liking Northville, it's a great area! I don't know about James, he's still super cool and wants to be baptized and stuff so we're going to work as hard as we can but he still has some things to get over before then. keep him in your prayers still, I love him a lot though haha.
We're also working with this guy Roger, he's been investigating the church for like a year and a half now but we're going to push him really hard. We talked with him on Thursday and talked about faith, hope, and charity and how to trust in God. He said that he's afraid to open himself up. He's kind of closed off his emotions years ago because he used to get so angry and he said that when he closed off that emotion all the other ones closed with it. He said he can't feel joy or love either and that's why he says he's not ready to get baptized yet. We were like if your baptized you will feel joy and love, the holy ghost can help you with that. Well he was on date for Dec. 6th but he has to get surgery on his knee that day so we're going to push him to get baptized the week before his surgery haha, it's a long stretch but he's ready, I know he's ready he's just afraid. We're gonna do it, he's going to get baptized! IT'S GONNA HAPPEN!
here's a really funny story that happened while tracting:
guy: "can't you see the sign, it says no soliciting."
us: "We're not soliciting."
guy: "Yes you are! I'm not going to argue with you! I've seen what you do! I've seen you in California!! You hand out those pamphlets that talk about the end of the world and tell people they're going to Hell and that's not about Jesus Christ!"
us: "No that's not us..."
guy: he starts shutting the door "Wait...are you Mormons?"
us: "Yes."
guy: "I'm so sorry!! I thought you were someone else...do you have any literature for me?"
us: "Sure here's our card.."
guy: "Ok thank you, Ill definitely check out the website. I'm so sorry!!"
us: "It's ok."
haha it was so funny, we were laughing pretty dang hard haha oh man I love people so much!!! haha.
We also taught Anton again, oh man that dude is so boss! We gave him a book of Mormon and read the introduction and the first chapter with him. He was so interested and he completely opened up to us and poured his heart out basically. it was so cool! he was like "Yeah it was weird because the day I met you guys I was thinking about some stuff and it's just weird how I met you at the right time." DUDE! God is so good! Is his timing perfect or what?! oh I love him!
Also Sis. Price and I have made up some sweet songs haha. We did it when we were tracting haha. you gotta make it fun somehow right? Well we've written two so far. The first one is about tracting it's called "We will find you!" it's to the tune of We will rock you haha, then the second one is to the tune of "baby" by Justin Beiber but it's called maybe and it's about dropping people haha. it's the best! We're totally going to be famous haha.
also we're super excited. so you know Ryan Petty, well remember how I said the Northville sisters tracted into his granparents house like a week before he was baptized? Well yeah, we're teaching Ryan's grandma! His grandpa has been out of town and busy and stuff but I told her I was the one who taught Ryan and she was so happy. They're such a sweet family and oh my goodness they're totally going to be sealed soon haha. So who knows maybe I'll be lucky and get to see Ryan too haha. but yeah, it's super exciting and on Thursday there's a devotional and Ryan's grandma, James, and Anton are all going! I'M SO EXCITED I CAN'T HANDLE IT!!
They're all getting baptized haha. I love it so much, i'll tell you what being a missionary is like the best job in the world if you can't already tell. AHHH I love it! anyway I hope you all have an amazing week love you all and the gospel's true!
