Hey everyone Happy Thanksgiving! This week was a little rough haha, our investigators aren't really progressing and we've been finding a lot but it's ok, that's life and we know Heavenly Father is preparing people for us to find! We had specialized training on Tuesday and that was really good. President Gerber is always super good at blowing our minds haha. We talked about how to plan effectively and our purpose as missionaries, we have authority to do God's work and we're the only ones that have that authority to go out and teach the gospel as representatives of Jesus Christ, booya! How cool is that? You think about a bunch of stupid, crazy 18/19 year olds being the only ones to represent Christ and share his gospel 24/7, it sounds insane! But obviously Heavenly Father has a plan and trusts us for some reason haha. Also we have a super cool thing we're doing for Christmas, we got to get a sneak peek at the new Christmas Mormon message and it's so good! make sure you watch it! it's called "He is the gift" and we have Christmas pass along cards we're giving to people. It should be a really awesome thing and get a lot of people closer to Christ. Whoo I'm excited! be sure to check it out and pass it on! We also met with our investigator Marilyn and she's doing good, she has a lot of questions and is reading the Book of Mormon. We had this awesome lesson with her about receiving revelation through church and prayer and scripture and how to recognize that. We asked her to come to church and she said she'd pray about it and she wants to come to church with us some time, hopefully that's soon. We've been doing a lot of tracting this week haha and it's getting colder, we had snow a couple days ago. gross! I'm still in denial it's winter haha but people say it's going to be worse than last year so that should be fun haha. You know I think it's because Heavenly Father knew that I missed the crazy winter here last year so he was like "well I guess we have to do it again and make it even better so Sister Gordon doesn't miss out" haha. We've also been working with the members a lot here, we found the trick to get them to open the door...cookies! haha we've been making cookies and stopping by members homes so we can know them and help them out with their missionary work and we've been having a lot of success with that. We went over to a members home for dinner last night, the Castro's, and they were telling us about their missionary experiences and we helped them out, they wanted advice haha. We also had stake conference and it was cool because I'm still in the same stake so I got to see everyone from Plymouth again, it was so fun! As soon as Azure saw me she ran and hugged me so hard haha. We talked for a long time and she said she wants to go to Utah on her mission haha, not many people say that haha. I also saw Jerry there haha he's still the cutest old man ever! We sat next to Sister Kunzler and Sister Mo'unga (who was Sis. Price's old companion) and Elder Bennett from the seventy was there and I got to shake his hand! It was awesome, he talked about how members and missionaries can work together and how they should and it was really good. President Medley who's the stake president spoke too and he's so funny oh my goodness. Both of them blew our minds away I loved it! a cool experience happened so a couple days ago I prayed during studies and I just asked God why I was here, I asked why he called me to Northville and the coolest thing happened. All day long, every single person I talked to I heard the words clear as day "this is why you're here." To EVERY PERSON I TALKED TO! I have never heard anything like that but Heavenly Father was literally whispering in my ear all day long. I felt the spirit so strongly and even with people who slammed doors in my face I still heard those words over and over again. haha after the day was over and I was saying my night prayers I was like "ok, ok I get it" haha he definitely has a sense of humor for sure and it wasn't just that day sometimes I still hear him in my head, it's the best thing ever! So I am definitely most thankful for the spirit and this gospel in my life and I'm thankful I'm able to be a missionary here in Detroit sharing it with everyone! I know that God lives. He's so aware of all of us and seriously if you're ever in doubt just ask haha he'll let you know. I'm thankful for all of you in my life, thanks for all your support and love. Have a wonderful week and a happy Thanksgiving! love you all and the gospel is soooo true! Sister Gordon
