Hey family! Hope you all enjoyed conference it was all so good! I got to watch it at the church with the rest of the missionaries in my district and some of the ward. Which talk was your favorite? I know, hard question right? They were all really good about being true disciples of Christ and keeping covenants. Conference is kind of like a holiday for missionaries, everyone gets super excited here haha. I also love when Elder Holland yells, he's the only one who can really throw down! and nobody cares haha. By the way Elder Holland is coming to my mission on May 20th!! I think I'm going to die or faint or something in between. Transfer calls happened but Sister Mickelsen and I are both staying in this area and I'm super happy about that, I love Roseville, it has a lot of good people here. This week has been a lot better. We continued to find people who were truly ready and so we knelt and prayed and asked Heavenly Father to put the people who were truly prepared to hear the gospel in our path and that very day we knocked on the door of a man named Ken who is a non practicing Catholic. We barley got the words "We are missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter day saints" out of our mouths when he said "good that's what I need." We were kind of in shock but we're meeting him again on Friday. Also we were driving and we got the impression that we needed to go see Loretta, who is a women we started teaching last week, but she wasn't home. We were confused because both of us felt like we should go there at that time so we drove further down the road and met a woman named Zapora, who is a single mom with two kids. They were very interested in what we had to say and we're seeing them again tomorrow. Isn't Heavenly Father the coolest! He obviously knew Loretta wasn't going to be home but he knew we needed to be there for that family. Listen to the spirit even when you don't understand it, Heavenly Father knows perfectly well what's going on. I like to think of him as a person playing a board game, he moves each piece of the game to the right spot at the right time. Friday was kind of stressful, Rick is a single dad who was recently baptized. We've been visiting him trying to review the lessons with him but he has a really bad relationship with his son Josh. Josh used to go to church but fell away and now he's very disrespectful to his dad, he's 24 and him and Rick fight all the time. It got so bad one time that Josh pushed Rick down and Rick had to call the cops on him and remove him from the house. He wasn't arrested or anything but he just had to go away from the house for a couple hours. That happened right before we came over and poor Rick just starts crying every time we talk about him. We talked to him yesterday and he said things were a lot better, but we've been praying for him for a long time, so keep him in your prayers. I hope all is going well with you guys and I love you more than anything. Keep being the awesome people you are and the gospel is soooo true! love, Sister Gordon
