Email October 13, 2014
Oh man this week has been all sorts of crazy...I'll save the important stuff for last haha.
So good news, my shoulder is much better now. It was super weird because it just started hurting so bad I couldn't even move it and it's been like that for the past week but I started doing these exercises and taking my pills and it's back to normal now. Dr. Dunn said it could've been my bad rotator cuff flaring up but it's okay now haha.
We also went tracting and found this sweet guy Dave. He's super cool and we told him we were missionaries and all that stuff and asked if he was interested and he said "Well yeah but what exactly does that intell?" haha we explained we would teach him about our basic belief and share what we know and then invite him to pray and ask if what we've said is true and he was like "Great, come back on Thursday." Whaat? That never happens haha can you say prepared? because that's totally what he is right now, love him!
Jerry is still stubborn...That man is going to kill me he frustrates me so bad haha. He's still smoking and drinking but right now we're focusing on getting him to read the book of Mormon every day because that's what's going to get him to commit to living all the rest of the commandments. If he's not going to read well then there's not much we can do for him. Come on Jerry!
I have a really funny story that happened. So Sister Taylor was in the shower and me and Sister Kunzler were talking to the office assistants, they were going to come and give us a new GPS. So we're sitting on the floor by our couch talking on the phone when all of a sudden something moves in the corner of our eye. We both look at the same time and right by our heads on the couch is this freaky looking spider. We screamed so loud and threw the phone and Sister Kunzler killed it real good haha. The Elders totally thought someone like broke into our apartment or something, they were so close to calling like the police or something and we told them it was a spider and they started laughing their heads off! Oh man... good times.
We also had a crazy throw down lesson with Carla, she's this lady who is super cool. She's been taught by the sisters for almost a year now and she knows everything. She's had some crazy signs and she for a fact knows it's all true but she is still living with her boyfriend and they are not planning on getting married till like 2016! What! We were like, so you can't get baptized for two years?! Do you know how much could happen in 2 years? Ugh. She knows it's wrong and that it's a commandment but she's so stubborn she will not change her mind. So Sister Kunzler was like "Well I guess if you're okay sinning before God there's not much else we can do." AND SHE SAID SHE WAS OKAY! ahhhh! She's totally fine with sinning, what the heck is that? haha.
then sad news...Sally passed away like 3 days ago, it was crazy because Brian called us totally crushed and said that the care center thing told him she's got 12-24 hours to live. Sister Armstrong called and asked if we could come and sing for Sally so we did. We sang like 10 hymns and it was super spiritual, Brian wasn't there though so we went to their house to see if he was okay. He said he was fine and we talked for a while and helped him rake leaves and then he got the call that she died. He was so mad and went to his punching bag thing and started beating the crap out of it! We went over there and gave him a hug and helped calm him down. We bore our testimonies to him about the spirit world and that Sally would be okay and he calmed down a lot. It was a huge miracle we were there when he got the call though because I know he definitely would have gotten drunk and went crazy. It was super sad though, we were all crying a lot but it's blessing because Brian was able to open up and talk to us and we were able to help him out. The funeral is tomorrow and he said he needed us there, oh man, he's the strongest person I've ever met. He's definitely a huge inspiration to me, he's had a lot of close people to him pass away but he knows the Heavenly Father is taking good care of him.
Brain's incredible and in the middle of his crying and venting he saw that all of us were crying too and so HE comforted US! He started teaching us and helping us feel better haha he's awesome!
After that all of us were sad and we couldn't concentrate on anything so we asked the Elders to give us blessings that night. Let me tell you, best night of my life. So the Elders met us at the church and I asked Elder Kniffen to give me a blessing and he said it was his first blessing but oh my gosh that was the best blessing I think I have ever had. He said exactly everything I needed to hear and they gave us all our own blessing and every single one was amazing. After they were done we all looked up and every single one of us had tears in our eyes. Even the Elders were crying, the spirit was the strongest I think I have ever felt before, it literally felt like Heavenly Father was right there in the room with us. Oh my goodness the power of the priesthood is so real and I am so grateful for the knowledge that we have of it being restored to this earth. To all of you men that hold the priesthood that are reading this email, I want you to know the testimony I have of the priesthood and how grateful I am to you guys for being worthy to hold it. Thank you so much, Heavenly Father is definitely using all of you guys as instruments in his hands. Thank you!
Anyway I hope you all have an amazing week, oh yeah one more thing.... I'M AT 9 MONTHS! AHHHHH! too crazy, too fast I don't know if I can handle it haha. I love you all and remember the gospel is true! God is so good haha.
