Hey everyone!
So this week was all over the place haha. first of all Mark is back! He got released early so Rodger called us over right away. He's still the coolest person ever. Drugs are still a big problem for him and so when we saw him he was high again... it's really sad how much it takes over his life, and you can tell how much he hates it. We taught him the restoration again, just as a review and it surprised me how much he remembered. We started teaching his whole family, we taught them Alma 36, where Alma tells his conversion story to his son. We thought it would really apply to Mark, but he was so drugged he couldn't even keep his eyes open. So I said a prayer in my heart as Sister Haws was talking that he would be able to listen and it would touch his heart, as soon as I finished the prayer he sat up and watched Sister Haws as she spoke. After the lesson he asked if we could right down the chapter we talked about so he could read it on his own, so we picked up the Book of Mormon we gave him and marked the page it was on. It was super cool! I freaking love Mark! if you didn't already know that.
So we went to the "I'm a Mormon" devotional on Thursday and we took Amber and Mya Rennie and they really enjoyed it. We talk about the Elders in our ward a lot when we're over at their house and so we were talking about Elder Humphreys and for some reason they call him doctor Humphreys and they think we're going to get married...yeah I don't understand it either. But they've been planning our wedding and Sister Haws, of course, is in on it too haha so he was there at the devotional and I pointed him out to Mya and she went up to him and said hi. I also saw Sister Price there so that was cool.
On Sunday you'll never guess who came to church...Mr. K! Now normally I would be very excited, which don't get me wrong I was happy he was there but I knew it was because Sister Price emailed him and told him to go to church. He is like in love with her so he did whatever she told him, Sister Haws and I were kind of disappointed because we wanted him to come because he wanted to be there, not because a sister told him to you know? So he came but wasn't very happy about it and in class he kind of backhanded us again, just like he did last time. He told everyone in class that he was feeling pressured into getting baptized and he was trying to prove us wrong again, and the most annoying part is everyone was on his side! They were all like "Oh Mr. K it's ok, you don't have to get baptized if you don't want to." Which, granted, I understand not pressuring him into it but that's not what we were doing. We said that he was ready for baptism and if he wasn't going to progress then we couldn't keep coming to his house but we didn't pressure him at all. We were kind of really hurt because I know he's ready to be baptized, he's just being stubborn and making up excuses. So we called President Gerber to ask what we should do and he told us to drop him, give him some space and let him come to us, so for now that's what we're going to do. So much mission drama... I love it! haha.
It's pretty funny, because Elder Humphreys calls us for business work because he's the district leader. He saves our call for last because he thinks we're entertaining and crazy haha. We're also having a district activity sometime hopefully this week or next week, we're trying to think of something fun to do. If you have any ideas please let me know haha.
Anyway my letters kind of short but I have to go, I love you all so much and hope you have a fantastic week! remember the gospel is true!
